Do you entertain at all types of children’s events?
Pretty much, yes!! We entertain at a whole range of different children’s events and parties, such as small birthday parties in homes or hired halls, luxury kids’ parties, big corporate events including Christmas parties and family fun days, local community parties, festivals, weddings, bat and bar mitzvahs, summer fairs and school fairs.
How long have you been doing this?
The Bedlam Bunch burst into life in 2007! For all those years since, we have been providing the best possible comedy-fantasy children’s entertainment with our eccentric and unforgettable characters at birthday parties and kids’ events.
What exactly do you do at a Bedlam Bunch children’s birthday party?
The first thing you need to know is this: We are professional theatre actors who absolutely adore working with kids! We get kids on their feet the whole way through, joining us on our theatrical, interactive journeys while they tap into their wildest imaginations and spring around with all their funny bones on our bonkers adventures. At birthday parties, whether we’re running an adventure show or doing walkabout entertainment, you can expect to see lots of games, magic, flying carpet rides, mischievous puppet characters, clue-solving, dancing, danger-dodging and balloon-model rewards, all within the magical world of Bedlam Island and the limitlessly barmy things that can happen there. You’ll see a lot of smiling, captivated faces, possibly some giant banana-throwing and probably a lot of kids telling us off for being so silly. Our party entertainment is fully immersive; we never expect children to sit down and listen and watch – that’s the opposite of what we do! (And if you’re looking for a Mr Motivator style party entertainer, that’s not us, either! We never use microphones to shout out games instructions!)
What ages do you entertain at birthday parties or other events?
We entertain all ages at birthday parties and children’s events! We do have particular entertainment packages that are tailored for toddler and baby birthday parties, such as our Silly Billy’s Bonkers Adventure, while Rocket Ron goes down really well with boys aged between 5 – 8 years, Fairy Fidget is a hit with girls aged between 4 – 8 years, and Sally Spin always gets young ladies on their feet! Typically, our entertainment suits children of primary school age, but if you are looking for something to suit birthday parties for kids over 10 years old, give us a call and we can tailor something to suit.
What’s the difference between Interactive Adventure Shows and Walkabout Entertainment?
Interactive Adventure Shows are fully immersive, theatrical shows for children’s parties or events where there is a suitable space set aside specifically for our entertainment and the right number of actors for the amount of kids present (1 actor to every 15 children). Kids get to come with our characters on a journey with a particular storyline (e.g., Detective Drigglestopper’s Crime Solving Adventure) and a mission that they must achieve in a race against time, otherwise disaster will ensue!!! Kids are completely involved with various challenges (games), clue-solving, mystery-unmuddling, flying carpet controls, ghost-busting, learning magic spells to get out of calamitous fixes and much more. Maybe they’ll rescue Fairy Fidget’s magic wand from Grandma Goblin in Fandango Forest, or maybe they’ll help Pirate Pratswagg find his long lost loot, after escaping Mummies’ Tomb!
Interactive Adventure Shows are run with a ratio of 1 entertainer to every 15 children. If you are inviting a class of children (up to 30), you will need 2 actors to entertain at your party. You can choose which two Bedlam Bunch characters you would like as a double-act! One will lead the adventure and one will be the sidekick.
**IMPORTANT: For Adventure Shows, we need a party space or event space without any background noise or activities; this includes chatting parents!**
Walkabout Entertainment is the perfect choice when you have a busy party environment with background noise, such as chatting parents or loud music, and other activities happening simultaneously, such as bouncy castles, face-painting or crafts. Our characters will merge, mingle and roam in the environment, making a really big impression, with balloon-modelling, spontaneous games, magic and puppets, without the aspect of running a storyline and without taking full control of the party. Walkabout party entertainment is also a great option if you have a budget for just one entertainer and there will be a large crowd of kids (more than 15); there is no maximum number of children per entertainer with our Walkabout option.
Do you provide Face Painters?
Yes! We have a team of the most amazing professional face-painters whom you can hire for children’s birthday parties and events in London. As with our entertainment, it’s best to book face-painters well in advance; they are so good that they get booked up very quickly! Having a face-painter really adds an extra dimension to every kid’s party – the magical creatures and colours on all their enchanted faces are a sight to behold!
Any other services?
For some children’s birthday parties or corporate children’s events and family fun days, we can also offer balloon party decoration and party gift bags with beautiful puppets made by The Puppet Company.
Are you guys DBS checked and insured?
Yes – all Bedlam Bunch Children’s Entertainers and staff are DBS checked and we have Public Liability insurance.
What areas do you cover?
For children’s birthday parties, The Bedlam Bunch provides entertainers in London, mainly. We can also cover other areas (e.g., Surrey or Kent) depending on availability, so it’s worth checking, bearing in mind that we are often booked up in London. For corporate events, festivals and other types of large-scale events, we travel to other UK areas and abroad.
How much does it cost?
Our most basic and brilliant birthday party entertainment options start at £195 for a 1-hour Interactive Adventure Show or 1 hour of Walkabout Entertainment with 1 entertainer. You can add more characters, extend the time and add extra services as you wish, to make your children’s event a great success! Corporate children’s events are priced according to the specifically tailored needs of each one. We frequently work with budgets between £5,000 – £20,000.
Can I have a children’s birthday party with your entertainment in my home?
Absolutely, yes! We have entertained for birthday parties and children’s events in all sizes of party venues, from tiny living rooms to football stadiums! Our style of entertainment is designed to be super adaptable to whatever spaces we find ourselves in. We can create expansive, magical worlds in some pretty small places! The most important things to consider when arranging your party space are: ensuring that the children will be safe to jump up and down while being entertained with some high energy activities (no glass tables, no sharp objects and as clear a floor space as you can manage), ensuring the space is free of loose balloons and party tooters (major distractions!!) and allocating the right number of supervising adults in the space. We can give you lots of advice on this, so don’t be shy about calling us and asking questions!
